About Me
Hi, I’m Miriam.
MIR started in my home studio, born from a problem I faced every day. As a mom of two young daughters, I spent too many winter afternoons walking them home in the dark, wishing their favorite clothes were as visible as they were vibrant. I didn't want them in neon plastic vests—I wanted them in high-quality, comfortable gear that could actually keep up with them.
I’ve always loved the art of sewing. From technical garment construction to the precision of industrial machines, I’m obsessed with how things are made and how to make them last. When I realized I could combine my love for textile design with reflective technology, MIR was born.
Every piece you see here is designed and produced by me. Whether it’s a custom reflective graphic for a Mini MIR sweatshirt or a technical adult layer, I’m building apparel that looks like premium streetwear by day and transforms into high-performance safety gear by night.
This isn't a big warehouse operation; it’s just me, a few heavy-duty sewing machines, and a goal to make the world a little brighter (and a lot safer) when the sun goes down. While the idea started during the long winters of the Pacific Northwest, I now ship from my studio to anywhere the days get short and the streets get busy. Because every person deserves to be seen, no matter where they live.
Thanks for being part of the journey!
